Oahu is the heart of Hawaii, home to the world famous Waikiki Beach, is the most populated island and is the favorite destination of tourists for many reasons, including by putting together a unique beauty with beautiful beaches and several entertainment options, adding the all this, a big city structure with numerous shopping centers.

Tourism is an important part of Hawaii’s economy. In 2003, according to the state government, there were over 6.4 million visitors to the Hawaiian Islands on the basis of spending more than $10 billion. Due to the mild climate all year, tourism is popular all year round.

The summer months and major holidays are the most popular times for outsiders to visit, however, especially when the residents of the rest of the United States are seeking to escape the winter cold. The Japanese, with their economic and historical ties to Hawaii and the US, as well as the relative geographical proximity, are also the main tourists.

No matter what you seek, you will probably find in Hawaii. This paradise offers activities ranging from extreme sports like skydiving and swimming with sharks even to calm sightseeing and dinner cruises.

But if you don’t give up to shop, don’t worry, in Oahu is located one of the largest open malls of the world the Ala Moana Mall. Another interesting tour is the Kalakaua Avenue home for stores such as Bvlgari, Rolex, Macy’s, Forever 21, etc. but if you are looking for an Outlet, go to the Waikiki Premium Outlet which houses brands like Calvin Klein, Armani Exchange, Adidas, Gap, Levi’s etc.

When the question is what to see and do in Oahu, “food” automatically ends the conversation. If you are staying in Waikiki Beach area, do not miss the opportunity to dine at Duke’s Waikiki, a restaurant named after the the surf legend Duke Kahanamoku, with a full buffet of Hawaiian cuisine, like fresh Poke, kalua pork, and huli huli chicken and more.
